Classes/Events

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Class sizes are extremely limited and tend to fill up quickly...If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to a wait list.  **If you are considering purchasing a class as a gift, we highly encourage you to purchase a gift certificate instead so that the recipient can select the menu and date that works best for them.**
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water/tea will be provided.  We will remain open for your private shopping during class.  All classes are 18+.

Cancellation Policy:  We have a strict 7 day cancellation policy.  We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions.

A Summer Evening on the Seine

The Seine River that flows through the heart of Paris is lined with cafes, and dining leisurely at them, enjoying time with friends and the scrumptious food, is very popular in France.  Join us for a delightful evening as we enjoy a delicious French dinner. Since we just returned from an incredible culinary tour of France, we are eager to share stories, tips and their delicious cuisine with you. We will begin the evening with a trio of tapenades, classic recipes from the south of France and we will serve them with a baguette. The evening will feature Pork Tenderloin with Sauce Poivrade, in classic French style.  We will accompany it with mashed potatoes and seasonal summer vegetables. For dessert, we can’t wait for you to enjoy a chouquette, a sugar topped French pastry, served with macerated summer berries. Come join us for a relaxing evening as you enjoy a mouth-watering dinner and dream of dining on the banks of the Seine.  $90 per person

Join Chef Francesca for a delicious pasta experience where you’ll learn to create her favorite Italian classic sauces that will simplify your dinner plans. Throughout the class, you’ll watch Chef Francesca demonstrate each sauce step-by-step, sharing professional tips, timing secrets, and flavor-building techniques you can use in countless dishes.

The Sauces You’ll Learn:
Lemon Garlic Wine Sauce – Master pan reduction and balance bright acidity with richness.
Cauliflower Tomato Sauce – Learn how to build depth and creaminess from simple vegetables.
Puttanesca – Discover bold Mediterranean flavors and proper sauce layering.

Each sauce will be paired with a pasta shape that complements it beautifully, and you’ll enjoy tasting a variety of samples.  To round out the experience, she will serve: fresh seasonal salad, herbed focaccia bread, a simple dessert, and an espresso latte.  Come hungry, leave inspired — and walk away with skills you’ll use every time you cook pasta.

Celebrating Bastille Day

Let’s celebrate Bastille Day with all of France and enjoy classic, delicious summer recipes that are just as perfect for your backyard or picnic celebrations as they are in France. Vichyssoise, that classic chilled potato soup will begin our evening. We will then enjoy Salad Niçoise, the famous summer dish from Nice that captures the flavors of summer on the Mediterranean and it will be accompanied by a Provencal Vegetable Gratin. The finale with be Tarte au Citron, a luscious lemon tarte. We will begin the evening with an enchanting French appetizer. Bastille Day, celebrated in France each year on July 14, is a popular holiday throughout France and much of the world, and like all French celebrations, it means great food! Come help us celebrate at this fun class and enjoy these delicious recipes all summer long.  $90 per person

Join Chef Sophia for a vegetarian spin on these Indian favorites.  Tonight you will enjoy:

*Potato samosa with Mango Chutney
*Mulligatawny Soup - a hearty, often creamy soup that blends Indian spices like curry powder with ingredients like lentils, apples, and carrots, and is thickened with rice 
*Kachumber Salad - a refreshing Indian salad made from chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions, along with cilantro, green chilies, and a simple dressing of lemon juice, salt, and cumin.  
*Paneer butter masala with basmati rice, mixed vegetable jalfrezi (spicy, tomato based curry), and malai kofta (dumplings).

Jamaican Me Crazy

A hot summer evening is the perfect time to dream of sea breezes and beautiful beaches, so join us for a special Jamaican evening. We will begin with Jamaican Beef Pastry as our appetizer. Then on to Jerk Chicken, that famous Jamaican dish, and it will be served with classic Rice and Beans. A fantastic Jamaican pineapple slaw will accompany the dinner and for dessert, it will be rum inspired!  Let’s all escape to Montego Bay for a delicious fun evening!  $80 per person  

Some Like it Hot

This class is a celebration of cooking with fresh chilis and learning different ways to incorporate them into your home cooking.  Join Chef Matt tonight as we enjoy several "spicy" courses from different cultures including Indonesian Chicken Sate' Skewers,  Southwest Cobb Salad, Steak Chile Verde, Chipotle brownies for dessert, and learn how to make your own hot sauce at home.  $80 per person

An Evening in Provence

We are absolutely in love with Provence—the sights, the people and especially the food! We are delighted to share this French menu based on the wonderful food we enjoyed there. The class will begin with a cooling gazpacho. White fish glazed with Basil and Almond Pesto served on top of a tomato, carrot, and shallot reduction will take center stage, accompanied by Julia’s Rice and Peas. We will finish with a cookie and rich ice cream, in the true French style. Bon appétit!  $80 per person
