Classes/Events

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Class sizes are extremely limited and tend to fill up quickly...If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to a wait list.  **If you are considering purchasing a class as a gift, we highly encourage you to purchase a gift certificate instead so that the recipient can select the menu and date that works best for them.**
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water/tea will be provided.  We will remain open for your private shopping during class.  All classes are 18+.

Cancellation Policy:  We have a strict 7 day cancellation policy.  We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions.

Zuppa Francesca with Italian Bread Loaf and Lemon Blueberry Pound Cake

Chef Francesca will be in the store whipping up a fresh batch of soup and Italian bread on Monday, November 3rd.   Place your order online, call the store, or just stop by on Monday between 2:00 - 5:00PM to pick up your order to go (while supplies last).  

$40 per order, includes 30ish ounces of soup, fresh bread, and dessert! 

Sushi - Hands On

It's time for a Sushi party! Come learn how to roll Sushi with Chef Sophia Chatfield as she teaches you the basics and some new trending techniques. You will learn about Sushi, and where to shop for the "good stuff" in the Kansas City. Students will make several different rolls throughout class to practice their new Sushi Skills. This is a hands on class, come prepared to have a blast and get rolling with a Chef who has taught more than 100+ Sushi classes!  $80 per person

Polpettine di Verdure – Delicate crispy vegetable meatballs nestled alongside fresh mixed greens and crisp fennel salad 

Spaghetti All’Assassina – A bold, pan-seared pasta and burrata specialty with irresistible depth of flavor

London Broil al Sole – Sun-dried tomato marinated London broil, paired with almond-kissed garlic green beans

Formaggio & Frutta – Espresso-balsamic roasted pear crowned with creamy goat cheese crumbles

Join Chef Glen tonight as we start to get into the Holiday Season. We'll start the evening with New England Clam Chowder and Pomegranate Salad with Blue Cheese, Walnuts and Cranberry Vinaigrette.  The reason for the evening will be Whole Roasted Beef Tenderloin and
Sauteed Gulf Shrimp with Pink Peppercorn sauce, Fondant Potatoes with Rosemary and Garlic
Roasted Vegetable Medley.  We'll cap off this decadent menu with Raspberry and White Chocolate Crème Brulee.   $90 per person.

Join us for everything pie!  We begin with a hands-on pie crust class, and yes, you make your own crust, ready to take home and bake. We want to erase the mystic from those troublesome crusts and help you go home with the know-how and confidence you need to make tender, delicious crusts. We aren’t done yet, for a pie feast awaits you as you taste an array of pies. You will first enjoy a savory autumn quiche, featuring caramelized onions, spinach and gruyere. Then, on to sampling those comforting, favorite fall pies—including a classic pumpkin pie, maple pecan pie and an apple cranberry crumb pie. These recipes will inspire you to prepare a Thanksgiving that is unforgettable.  $80 per person

Our annual Holiday Tea class is truly a celebration of the season and is the perfect evening to enjoy with friends or family or that special evening with your date. It is an evening packed with fun, laughter, holiday cheer and scrumptious food for all to enjoy. This event is in the style of a classic, English tea—so come hungry as the plentiful array of sweet and savory recipes will be served in multiple courses, creating a plentiful feast. Plus, you leave with all of the recipes and tips, so you can easily host your own special party or bake a tasty holiday gift for someone special. Our teas begin with scones, served with clotted cream and our own homemade strawberry jam, then you will enjoy an array of unforgettable appetizers and sweets. Sit back, relax and make a special, and delicious holiday memory.  $80 per person

Once again, Chef Francesca is bringing her family's Sicilian tradition to the table with the historic "Feast of the Seven Fishes." This custom, dating back to the 1900s, is the ultimate celebration for seafood lovers.
