Classes

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Please, do NOT wait to register - class sizes are extremely limited and will fill up quickly! If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to the wait list.
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water will be provided.
 
We will remain open for your private shopping during and after class.

Cancellation Policy:  If you cannot attend a class for which you are registered, you must notify us at least 7 calendar days prior to the class date. We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions. Full payment is expected at time of registration.

This evening, we will learn some favorite dishes inspired from the great Japanese Steakhouses that entertain us and excite our tastebuds! We will start off the evening by learning to make a Spicy Crab Sushi Roll. Then we will enjoy Chef's twist on a classic with Inside Out Crab Rangoon Dip. The Salad will feature a Ginger Sesame dressing over Crisp Iceburg with fresh garnish. For the main Entree, we will learn how to make Teriyaki Chicken and Steak with a Fried Rice, and fresh stir fry vegetables. For dessert, we will enjoy a Macha White Chocolate Mousse Cup.

Intermediate Pasta Making - Hands On

A much-requested pasta making class is back and taking it to the next level!  During this very hands-on class, Chef Francesca will teach the art of handmade pasta -- think gnocchi, ravioli, or maybe something a little more unexpected.  Do expect to bring your basic pasta making knowledge/skills and an apron to this class.  $75 per person

Who doesn't love garlic??  This evening, it's all about the garlic.  We will start off with Garlic dip with toasted bread followed by a Caesar Salad.  The main entree will be Garlic Chicken served over basmati rice with a garlicky tomato provencal.  And for dessert...you guessed it...a dessert made with Black Garlic.

It's time for a Sushi party! Come learn how to roll Sushi with Chef Sophia Chatfield as she teaches you the basics, and some new trending techniques. You will learn about Sushi, and where to shop for the "good stuff" in the Kansas City. Students will make several different rolls throughout the night to practice their new Sushi Skills. This is a hands on class, come prepared to have a blast and get rolling with a Chef who has taught more than 60 Sushi classes!

We will accompany it with One Pot Oven Parmesan Risotto and Haricots with Dill. For dessert, we will serve one of Ina’s famous cupcakes.  $75 per person

She will talk with you about her momma’s favorite picnic items:  Italian Sausage sandwiches with green peppers and onions, Olive Schiacciate, Italian Potato Salad with Green Beans, Slices of Watermelon, Sfingi (Sicilian doughnuts) and a cup of American coffee.

Sizzlin' Cast Iron

Boy, it is hot out, but are you tired of the grill? Get out that Cast Iron skillet and dinner will sizzle! One of our favorite Cast Iron recipes is Cast Iron Fajitas and we bet it will become a favorite of yours! Of course, we will serve it with guacamole and fresh pico de gallo. We will add queso and chips and will round out the menu with refried beans. As always, we will serve a yummy dessert. Come hungry and bring all of your questions on using that mysterious cast iron skillet! You will leave empowered to use it daily! $75 per person
