Classes/Events

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Class sizes are extremely limited and tend to fill up quickly...If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to a wait list.  **If you are considering purchasing a class as a gift, we highly encourage you to purchase a gift certificate instead so that the recipient can select the menu and date that works best for them.**
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water/tea will be provided.  We will remain open for your private shopping during class.  All classes are 18+.

Cancellation Policy:  We have a strict 7 day cancellation policy.  We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions.  

All Things Olives

For those of you that love all things olives....this one is for you!   Chef Francesca wants to share her love of Italy and olives with you tonight.  She'll start the night with classic caponata on Crostini as well as a Cracked Green Olive Schiacciate.  Pasta Puttanesca will be the star of the night....maybe.  If not to be outdone by dessert, a Lemon Rosemary Olive Oil Cake.  And espresso, of course!  Salut!  $80 per person

All Things Green, but Thai

We know it's St. Patrick's season, but Chef Sophia wanted to celebrate with her spin on Thai food (maybe with a green flair).  She'll start with shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce, then onto Thai green papaya salad and thai chicken basil on lettuce cups.  The main courses will be Green Curry Beef with steamed rice and vegetables and we'll finish the night with pandan coconut tapioca pudding.  $80 per person

March cool breezes and showers foretell the coming of spring, yet the unpredictable weather means that it is the perfect time to stay inside, fill the kitchen with incredible aromas and feast. We will be celebrating the food and inspiration of Nigella Lawson, known as the Domestic Goddess. Whether you know and follow this famous British television host, cook and author or not, you will truly love her food. Start dreaming now about a beef roast, marinated in vodka then roasted until tender and out-of-this world wonderful.  We will accompany it with Heavenly Potatoes and creamed spinach (one of those perfect dishes that you will love, even if you thought you didn’t enjoy spinach.)  We will begin the evening with Parmesan Shortbread, a recipe you will make time and again to serve with a glass of wine. Dessert will be her incredible Chocolate Guinness Cake, a recipe that is such a delicious favorite you might be serving it on St. Patrick’s Day (or all year long!)  $80 per person

Springtime in France

Chef Glen is back and ready to celebrate Springtime in the French Countryside!  Tonight we'll enjoy a Spring Vegetable Tart with Arugala and Lemon Oregano Vinaigrette.  The main entree will include Herb Creusted Pork Tenderloin with Apple Cider Jus, Cheese Souffle, and Braised Red Cabbage.  Dessert will be a decadent Chocolate Mousse with White Chocolate Curls and Pirouettes!  $80 per person. 

Tour of Italy Dining Experience - Regional Specialties

Chef Francesca wants to take you to her favorite regions of Italy for this special dining experience.  Your culinary travels will include smoked salmon ricotta crostini, Romana salad, Spaghetti all'Assassina and Spada alla ghiotta (Swordfish with olives and tomatoes).  She'll round out the excursion out with a fruit and cheese plate.  Finally, a cup of Espresso and a decadent flourless chocolate torte to conclude the tour!  What a trip around Italy!  $90 per person

We love Brunch and this menu!  Join Chef Sophia for a Seasonal Quiche, French Omelet with truffle oil and parmesan cheese, Croque Monsiuer, and Berry Clafoutis for dessert.  Feel free to bring your own Mimosa!  $80 per person.  


April 3, 2025 - Hands On Pasta Making

A much-requested pasta making class is back!  During this very hands-on class, Chef Francesca will teach the art of handmade pasta - from creating your own volcano of dough to shaping 3 different forms of pasta. You'll learn about various techniques and go home with some fresh pasta to yourself. In addition, you will dine on two of her fresh pasta and sauce dishes.  End the evening with an Italian liqueur sampling.  Be sure to bring an apron!  $80 per person. 

Sushi Lunch - Hands On
Monday, April 7th from 6:00 to 8:00PM 

It's time for a Sushi party! Come learn how to roll Sushi with Chef Sophia Chatfield as she teaches you the basics and some new trending techniques. You will learn about Sushi, and where to shop for the "good stuff" in the Kansas City. Students will make several different rolls throughout class to practice their new Sushi Skills. This is a hands on class, come prepared to have a blast and get rolling with a Chef who has taught more than 100+ Sushi classes!  $80 per person

Lenten Dining Experience - POP UP DINNER

Come hear about the history of Chef Franscesca's favorite celebrations, Lent and Easter.  Chef Francesca will share some of her Sicilian family's favortie Lenten tradtions and recipes with you.  Tonight's menu will include Caeser Salad with fresh, traditional dressing, Pasta Milanese, and Whole Salmon on Cedar Plank.  We'll finish the evening with a cup of espresso and Zeppole.  $90 per person. 

Springtime in Wine Country

As a celebration of Springtime in Wine Country, you will indulge in some beautifully delicious cuisine. Upon arrival, we will serve Crab Cakes with Avocado Aioli; then a light Mesclun blend of Greens with a Fruity Vinaigrette. The Entree for the evening is Pan-Seared Chicken Breast Supreme with Raspberry Coulis and Boursin, Crispy Garlicky Petite Potatoes, and Sauteed Asparagus. Dessert will be a French Lemon Cream Tart with Fresh Berries.  $80 per person 


Celebrate Spring

Spring is in the air (or at least it should be); come celebrate the beginning of springtime's harvest and lighter menu options.  Tonight, Chef Glen will start with Vital Farms Deviled Egg Salad and Spring Greens.  The main course will include Phyllo Wrapped, Wild Caught King Salmon, Rose` Butter Sauce, Dauphinoise Potatoes and Sauteed Asparagus with Wild Mushrooms.  He'll round out the evening with Meyer Lemon Pound Cake and Macerated Strawberries.  $90 per person. 

Ruth Reichl:  Dinner Beyond Compare

 If you aren’t familiar with Ruth Reichl, acclaimed chef and food writer, you will know her well after an evening enjoying this meal. She rose to great heights as a newspaper journalist, food critic, author and editor of Gourmet Magazine. Her delicious journey included six James Beard awards and judging television's Top Chef Masters, yet she valued the power of the family meal and taught generations to cook. The center of this Latin-inspired dinner will be an incredible pork roast, rubbed with spices and roasted to perfection in banana leaves. (If you have never tasted pork roasted in banana leaves, trust us, you are in for a juicy treat!) We will begin the meal with one of her wonderful appetizers (there are so many to choose from) and round out the meal with an extraordinary black bean dish. For dessert, none other than her Sour Cream Apple Pie. Come taste and explore the world of Ruth Reichl with us. We love these recipes, and as she says, this meal will make your life more delicious.  $80 per person  

Taco Night

Who doesn't love tacos????  Come tonight to earn how to make several different salsas, meat preparations and toppings for a variety of taco styles.   You will learn how to make carne asada, carnitas, chorizo, chicken tinga, and camaron (shrimp).  Chef Sophia will also whip up a tasty mexican sweet treat to finish up the night.  Ole! $80 per person
