Classes

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Please, do NOT wait to register - class sizes are extremely limited and will fill up quickly! If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to the wait list.
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water will be provided.
 
We will remain open for your private shopping during and after class.

Cancellation Policy:  If you cannot attend a class for which you are registered, you must notify us at least 7 calendar days prior to the class date. We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions. Full payment is expected at time of registration.

Snow may be falling and winds blowing, but with your cast iron skillet you can enjoy the best tasting pizza at home. This class was such a smashing success we decided to offer cast iron pizza again. First, you will enjoy an Italian style salad with an Italian vinaigrette. Then on to pizza with recipes and tips for crusts, sauce and toppings. For a busy family evening, we will show you to prepare Quick and Easy Crust, with Easy-Peasy Sauce, topped with Italian Sausage and Pepperoni. We bet you will love the 24-hour Artisan Crust and we will top it with vegetables and goat cheese. And no pizza class would be complete without a deep-dish pizza. For a sweet dessert to end the class we will serve a treat from our cookbook, The Best Cast Iron Baking Book.  $75 per person

Then a wonderful dish Chef Francesca’s family frequently had-Penne con Cauliflower. For the main course, a bright orange salad and a Beef Spiedini will be served. Finally, end this delightful evening of traditional foods with Gelato

For the Salad, we will have fresh Market Greens with a Raspberry dressing, Roasted Walnuts, and Honey Goat Cheese. The main event for the evening is Slow Roast Prime Rib with Horseradish Sauce, Sauce Diane, Whipped potatoes with White Cheddar, and Sauteed Fresh vegetables. Southern Cast Iron Dinner

That black cast iron skillet was (and still is) THE skillet of the South, and it cooks up the most delicious food ever. After writing our last cookbook, The Best Cast Iron Baking Book, we are more than qualified to share tips and answer all of your questions on using that mysterious black skillet. We will share a little Southern hospitality and all we ask of you is to sit back and enjoy a delicious meal. For this Southern evening we will feature Nashville Hot Chicken. (We will make this Tennessee classic “middle of the road” so no need to steer clear of class for fear it being too spicy.) We will serve it with all of the Southern fixin’s and a warm slice of the best skillet cornbread. For dessert, enjoy Peach Cobbler. Come hungry! $75 per person

This evening, we will learn some favorite dishes inspired from the great Japanese Steakhouses that entertain us and excite our tastebuds! We will start off the evening by learning to make a Spicy Crab Sushi Roll. Then we will enjoy Chef's twist on a classic with Inside Out Crab Rangoon Dip. The Salad will feature a Ginger Sesame dressing over Crisp Iceburg with fresh garnish. For the main Entree, we will learn how to make Teriyaki Chicken and Steak with a Fried Rice, and fresh stir fry vegetables. For dessert, we will enjoy a Macha White Chocolate Mousse Cup.

Intermediate Pasta Making - Hands On

No need to pack your bags for this French class. Mention a French bistro and a small restaurant, serving fresh, simple and satisfying food that is always big on flavor comes to mind. Sound good to you? Pull up a chair and enjoy this quick trip to the French countryside. We will feature chicken paillards with lemon and capers, accompanied by Bistro potato and leek gratin and a roasted beet salad. A wonderful French dessert will cap the evening.  $75 per person  

Homemade Pizza...the Real Stuff!

Come sample different types of great pizza - Sicilian & Neapolitan style.  Watch and learn how to make great pizza crust.  Chef Francesca will share with you how she learned to make her momma’s pizza and what ingredients to have on hand to make your own great pizza at home.  She will be serving a nice salad with red wine vinaigrette, many different types of pizza, and a fun dessert, Affogato. Guest singers, Frank and Grace Ancona, will be there to entertain you, Italian style!
