Classes

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. In the case that you are using a gift certificate to register for a class, you must call our store.  All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Please, do NOT wait to register - class sizes are extremely limited and will fill up quickly! If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to the wait list.
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water will be provided.
 
We will remain open for your private shopping during and after class.

Cancellation Policy:  If you cannot attend a class for which you are registered, you must notify us at least 7 calendar days prior to the class date. We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place.  Please understand that we cannot make exceptions. Full payment is expected at time of registration.

This is a virtual option for our Rainy Day Cookie Decorating Class.  Katie will bring a dozen pre-baked themed sugar cookies to our store for you to pick up on Saturday, April 17, 2021.  We will provide the link and instructions to access the online class where you will still get the full decoration demonstration, instruction, and assistance. Katie will teach a variety of techniques (piped icing, cookie painting, sprinkle accents, flooding, etc.) via a pre-recorded "class" that you will get to complete at your own pace and in the safety of your own home. We'll start the evening with Miso Soup and Edamame.  Then we'll learn nigiri, hosomaki, and inside-out rolls using shrimp, tuna, salmon & vegetables. Featuring Chef’s Lee’s Summit Roll - Applewood Smoked Lake Trout, cream cheese and asparagus deep fried with eel sauce, spicy mayo, green onion and sesame seeds.

Those famous little tea houses and cafes serve the best luncheons.  We will begin with a distinctive fresh salad with dressing.  The main dish will be an elegant pastry wrapped chicken breast and it will be accompanied by a seasonal vegetable side.  Of course, there will be dinner rolls and for dessert, a slice of homemade pie.  $55 per person

We'll start with Prairie Flatbread made with Kansas flour and Missouri cheeses, and Farmer's Market Salad with local greens and homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. Make-ahead Ranchhand's Pie is a beefy take on shepherd's pie, no deliciousness lost in the translation. Save room for Somewhere Over the Rainbow Cake and ice cream. Bring a bottle of regional wine, if you like, from a Kansas or Missouri winemaker.  $65 per person

It is time for a picnic. Everything tastes better outside, so let’s plan for a fun, delicious meal that travels easily outside to the park.  We will begin with a summer-time refreshing, icy drink. It can’t be a picnic without deviled eggs. Next, a version or two of Pan Bagnet (A 24-hour, make ahead sandwich) will make the perfect main dish and we will round the meal out with an Israeli Couscous Salad. For dessert, Lemon Poppy Seed Picnic Cake.  We will share the tips so your picnic is fun, easy, safe and attractive. $65 per person
