Classes/Events

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Class sizes are extremely limited and tend to fill up quickly...If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to a wait list.  **If you are considering purchasing a class as a gift, we highly encourage you to purchase a gift certificate instead so that the recipient can select the menu and date that works best for them.**
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water/tea will be provided.  We will remain open for your private shopping during class.  All classes are 18+.

Cancellation Policy:  We have a strict 7 day cancellation policy.  We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions.

Chef Francesca will be in the store whipping up a fresh batch of soup and Italian bread on Monday, December 22nd.   Place your order online, call the store, or just stop by on Monday between 2:00 - 5:00PM to pick up your order to go (while supplies last).

Pasta and Sauces - Hands On

Chef Francesca will guide you through creating several classic pasta shapes, then treat you to a full Italian meal featuring a romaine and orange salad with balsamic vinaigrette, rich bolognese over pappardelle, and homemade tiramisu. Plus, you’ll make your own fresh pasta to take home! Be sure to bring your apron! $80 per person.

It's time for a Sushi party! Come learn how to roll Sushi with Chef Sophia Chatfield as she teaches you the basics and some new trending techniques. You will learn about Sushi, and where to shop for the "good stuff" in the Kansas City. Students will make several different rolls throughout class to practice their new Sushi Skills. This is a hands on class, come prepared to have a blast and get rolling with a Chef who has taught more than 100+ Sushi classes!  $80 per person

Simmer into a sizzling night with your Crock Pot and Cast Iron Skillet. Join us for Crock Pot and Cast Iron 101, as we unlock the secrets of using these trusty kitchen wonders while you enjoy an incredible winter feast. We will begin with a delicious hearty soup simmered in your slow cooker that is spot-on for a cold winter’s eve. Chicken Fried Chicken will sizzle perfectly in that cast iron skillet, and we will accompany it with mashed potatoes, gravy, and Cast Iron Blistered Green beans. Of course, we will finish with a great dessert.  Bring all your questions and come hungry! $80 per person  

Julia and Me - Inspiration from a Culinary Legend

This evening we will celebrate a true legend in the kitchen, Julia Child, and learn some modern twists on Classic French favorites. Upon arrival we will enjoy the perfect light appetizer, Gougeres (cheese puffs) with a fruity dijon dip. The soup course for the dinner will be a silky French Onion Soup with cheesy Gruyere crouton, followed by Coques St. Jacque (Scallops in a Mornay sauce).  The Entree for the evening will be Beef Bourguignonne with Whipped Potatoes and Haricot Verte. And the finale to the dinner is a French Lemon Cream curd with Raspberry Coulis and Whipped Cream.  $90 per person

Join us for Valentine's weekend as we celebrate with some Decadent, Delightful, and Delicious Cuisine sure to make you feel the love! We will start off with an appetizer of Caprese Skewers with a Fruity Balsamic. Soup for the evening will be a Cajun Lobster Bisque with Langostino garnish. The Salad will be Strawberry Spinach salad with Almonds, Goat Cheese, and a yummy Poppyseed Dressing. The Entree will be Slow-roasted KC Striploin, peppercorn crusted, with a Bordelaise Sauce (fancy brown gravy), Swirled Truffle Potatoes, and Roasted Asparagus. We will round out this fabulous evening with a Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake with Belgian Chocolate sauce! Warning, this dinner may give you happiness overload!  $90 per person

The appetizer will feature Bourbon Brown Sugar Bacon. Our winter salad will delight with a bourbon vinaigrette. The Bourbon Glazed Steak Slices on Cheesy Polenta will star, and that great main dish will be served with Bourbon Glazed Carrots.  For dessert? You guessed it! An Evening in a French Bistro

You just can’t beat an evening at a French Bistro, and this time, you need to only pull up a chair and enjoy every bite. No passport needed.  For an appetizer, we will begin with Gruyere Cheese Twists.  The Creamy French Chicken Tarragon, served with a French Style Pilaf Rice will quickly become one of your all-time favorite dishes. Braised Leeks with Haricot Verts will round out the meal. The French are known for desserts and this time, we will feature Mille Feuille (A Napoleon Dessert.) Come join us for dinner!
