Classes/Events

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Class sizes are extremely limited and tend to fill up quickly...If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to a wait list.  **If you are considering purchasing a class as a gift, we highly encourage you to purchase a gift certificate instead so that the recipient can select the menu and date that works best for them.**
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water/tea will be provided.  We will remain open for your private shopping during class.  All classes are 18+.

Cancellation Policy:  We have a strict 7 day cancellation policy.  We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions.  

Italian Holiday Favorites

Chef Francesca is eager to share some delightful dishes from her family's Christmas holiday dinner. These treasured recipes from her Sicilian grandmother are not to be missed.  Start with a small pasta dish, penne marinara, followed by the entrées: Arancini (rice balls), Braciola (stuffed round steak), a simple Italian salad with balsamic and olive oil dressing, and crunchy Italian bread. Conclude with her homemade cannoli. $75 per person

You will enjoy some Crostini ala Romana as you arrive. Soup for tonight is a Tuscan Vegetable with Pancetta. Salad for the dinner is fresh greens with a Fruity Balsamic dressing and garnish. It's tradition Chef Matt carries on with his Wood Fired and Slow Roast Prime Rib of Beef, with Roasted Garlic Whipped potatoes and vegetables. Dessert to cap off the evening is Chocolate bread Pudding with a Salted Caramel Vanilla Custard Sauce.   $85 per person

Greek Holiday Traditions

If you aren't in the holiday spirit yet, this dinner of Aristo's favorite holiday dishes will definitely do the trick.  Join Chef Aristo as he starts with Saganaki Flambe. The main entree will be Rack of Lamb with roasted potatoes and green beans.  We will finish the meal off with Honey Walnut Cake.    $75 per person 

An Evening in Paris

No passport is needed for this quick trip to the quaint, beautiful streets of Paris as we enjoy a classic, delicious French inspired dinner. We will begin with Gougères, the light, baked choux pastry, but this time, flavored with Gruyere, Mustard and Rosemary. The main dish will be the traditional Coq au Vin, accompanied with Pommes Vigneron (translated to the winemaker’s potatoes, which are beyond yummy) and Vichy carrots. No French meal is complete without a rich, elegant dessert and this one is sure to please. We cannot wait to share this glorious evening enjoying all things French with you.  $80 per person  

Ramen

Are you passionate about Ramen?  Whether you're a beginner or looking to take your Ramen game to the next level this class is for you!  Tonight with Chef Sophia, we will learn how to make basic ramen miso broth, soy eggs, twice baked pork belly, and various vegetables for ramen toppings.   For appetizers we will have pork and shrimp dumplings with dipping sauce and almond cookies for a sweet treat to end the night.  $80 per person

European Bistro

Let's welcome Chef Glen and his inaugural cooking class with us where he will share his extensive knowledge of all things European Cuisine!  Join Chef Glen tonight for Potato Leek Soup with Applewood Bacon.  The main entree will include Pan Seared Chicken with Maple Mustard Reduction, roasted brussel sprouts and rice, and potato waffles.  We'll end our evening with Spiced Sweet Potato Cake with Vanilla Sauce!  $80 per person.

The holidays are over and it's sure to be cold outside.  Come cozy up with Chef Aristo and enjoy some his favorite comfort foods. We'll start warming up with KC Steak Soup, then onto BBQ Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans.  We'll finish off the night with Apple Cheese Pie.  Yum!  $80 per person 

Italian on the Lighter Side

For those of you looking to lighten things up and keep your healthy New Year's Resolution going, this class is for you.  Join Chef Francesca tonight, she'll start out with Zucchini Involtini, a ricotta and herb filled vegetable dish.  To be followed by a refreshing Fennel and Orange Salad.  The main event will be Chicken Piccata over sauted Spinach.  We'll finish the night with a Limoncello Mousse!  $80 per person

Celebrate Mardi Gras, New Orleans Style

This February evening, right in the middle of Mardi Gras celebrations, is the ideal time to enjoy the fun, traditions and truly wonderful food that New Orleans is famous for. Just like the locals, we will begin with Bayou Dip on Ritz. Dinner will feature Stuffed Pork Chops, topped with a classic, wonderful New Orleans sauce, accompanied by Caramelized Sweet Potatoes with Spiced Glaze and Roasted Vegetable Pecan Relish. For dessert, it will be the traditional King Cake, a colorful, delicious cake that is the always the center of the fun! Laissez les bons temps rouler. (Let the good times roll.)  $80 per person  

Sushi Lunch - Hands On

It's time for a Sushi party! Come learn how to roll Sushi with Chef Sophia Chatfield as she teaches you the basics and some new trending techniques. You will learn about Sushi, and where to shop for the "good stuff" in the Kansas City. Students will make several different rolls throughout class to practice their new Sushi Skills. This is a hands on class, come prepared to have a blast and get rolling with a Chef who has taught more than 100+ Sushi classes!  $80 per person

With Love Dinner

This menu will surely inspire some loving feelings this February!  Join Chef Aristo for Salmon Crostini and Hearts of Romaine Salad.  The main entree will include Filet & Salmon with Kahlua Cream sauce, and Rice Pilaf and Asparagus.  We'll end this romantic menu with a silky Chocolate Orange Mousse.  $90 per person

If you're still in the mood to celebrate love, or just the love of great food, make sure to join us for this class!  Tonight, Chef Glen will start the night with Winter Squash Soup with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds.  The main course will include Pan Seared Filet Mignon, Spiced
Shrimp, Pink Peppercorn Sauce with Roasted Carrot, Cauliflower and Broccoli.  We'll end our evening with Homemade Chocolate Truffles and Whipped Cream!  $90 per person. 

Tour of Italy Dining Experience - Regional Specialties

Chef Francesca wants to take you to her favorite regions of Italy for this special dining experience.  Your culinary travels will include smoked salmon ricotta crostini, Romana salad, Spaghetti all'Assassina and Spada alla ghiotta (Swordfish with olives and tomatoes).  She'll round out the excursion out with a fruit and cheese plate.  Finally, a cup of Espresso and a decadent flourless chocolate torte to conclude the tour!  What a trip around Italy!  $90 per person

All Things Olives

For those of you that love all things olives....this one is for you!   Chef Francesca wants to share her love of Italy and olives with you tonight.  She'll start the night with classic caponata on Crostini as well as a Cracked Green Olive Schiacciate.  Pasta Puttanesca will be the star of the night....maybe.  If not to be outdone by dessert, a Lemon Rosemary Olive Oil Cake.  And espresso, of course!  Salut!  $80 per person

All Things Green, but Thai

We know it's St. Patrick's Day today, but Chef Sophia wanted to celebrate the day with her spin on Thai food (maybe with a green flair).  She'll start with shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce, then onto Thai green papaya salad and thai chicken basil on lettuce cups.  The main courses will be Green Curry Beef with steamed rice and vegetables and we'll finish the night with pandan coconut tapioca pudding.  $80 per person

A Feast Inspired by Nigella Lawson

March cool breezes and showers foretell the coming of spring, yet the unpredictable weather means that it is the perfect time to stay inside, fill the kitchen with incredible aromas and feast. We will be celebrating the food and inspiration of Nigella Lawson, known as the Domestic Goddess. Whether you know and follow this famous British television host, cook and author or not, you will truly love her food. Start dreaming now about a beef roast, marinated in vodka then roasted until tender and out-of-this world wonderful.  We will accompany it with Heavenly Potatoes and creamed spinach (one of those perfect dishes that you will love, even if you thought you didn’t enjoy spinach.)  We will begin the evening with Parmesan Shortbread, a recipe you will make time and again to serve with a glass of wine. Dessert will be her incredible Chocolate Guinness Cake, a recipe that is such a delicious favorite you might be serving it on St. Patrick’s Day (or all year long!)  $80 per person

Springtime in France

Chef Glen is back and ready to celebrate Springtime in the French Countryside!  Tonight we'll enjoy a Spring Vegetable Tart with Arugala and Lemon Oregano Vinaigrette.  The main entree will include Herb Creusted Pork Tenderloin with Apple Cider Jus, Cheese Souffle, and Braised Red Cabbage.  Dessert will be a decadent Chocolate Mousse with White Chocolate Curls and Pirouettes!  $80 per person. 

Classic French Brunch

We love Brunch and this menu!  Join Chef Sophia for a Seasonal Quiche, French Omelet with truffle oil and parmesan cheese, Croque Monsiuer, and Berry Clafoutis for dessert.  Feel free to bring your own Mimosa!  $80 per person.  


Lenten Dining Experience - POP UP DINNER

Come hear about the history of Chef Franscesca's favorite celebrations, Lent and Easter.  Chef Francesca will share some of her Sicilian family's favortie Lenten tradtions and recipes with you.  Tonight's menu will include Caeser Salad with fresh, traditional dressing, Pasta Milanese, and Whole Salmon on Cedar Plank.  We'll finish the evening with a cup of espresso and Zeppole.  $90 per person.
