Classes

Register online to reserve your place in one of our upcoming classes or call us at (816) 554-3755. All cooking classes must be paid for at time of reservation.  Please, do NOT wait to register - class sizes are extremely limited and will fill up quickly! If a class is full, please contact the store to be added to the wait list.
 
All classes are BYOB! Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer with you to enjoy with your meal. We’ll provide the glasses and openers! Water will be provided.
 
We will remain open for your private shopping during and after class.

Cancellation Policy:  If you cannot attend a class for which you are registered, you must notify us at least 7 calendar days prior to the class date. We will gladly refund your class fee or transfer you to another class as long as your request is made more than 7 calendar days prior to the class date. If you discover that you are unable to attend class within the 7 days prior, we encourage you to find a substitute to take your place. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions. Full payment is expected at time of registration.

Italian Steak Sandwich Dinner
Thursday, July 7th from 6:00 to 8:00PM

“My grown boys still ask me for these all the time!” - Chef Francesca Martin.

Delicious breaded Italian steak is drenched in marinara sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese, and then toasted.  Chef Francesca will also show you how to make two easy side dishes that pair wonderfully with this dinner.  Like her traditional family dinners often end, she will make fresh brewed espresso with an authentic coffee pot and frothy cream.  She will serve up her biscotti too!

This fun and delicious class will present the flavors and recipes of Provence, the southern region of France along the Mediterranean coastline, and of course, the wonderful dishes inspired by the acclaimed chef Julia Child. In true French fashion, we will begin the evening with gourgères. Then, enjoy Roasted Salmon on Greens, accompanied by Julia’s Braised Rice and Stuffed Tomatoes Provencal.  For dessert, Le Vacherin, a meringue dessert.

Celebrate with Chef Francesca as she shows you how her Sicilian family would enjoy the summer months   with, of course, food!! She will talk with you about her momma’s favorite picnic items:  Italian Sausage sandwiches with green peppers and onions, Olive Schiacciate, Italian Potato Salad with Green Beans, Slices of Watermelon, Sfingi (Sicilian doughnuts) and a cup of American coffee.

Dinner from the Farmer's Market

The local farmers’ market is filled with fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as herbs, meat, chicken and more. This class will focus on those delicious, fresh ingredients—whether from the market or your own garden. We will begin with a cucumber-basil dressing on tomatoes. A refreshing watermelon cooler will cleanse your palate. Then enjoy Summer Chicken Parmesan with Cherry Tomatoes and Zucchini, accompanied by Orzo with Roasted Vegetables.  For dessert, there will be a delicious Cast Iron Peach Crostata.

Everyone will enjoy tasting her recipes, but more importantly, you will leave the class empowered to become an even better cook. We will begin with The Greenest Green Salad with Green Goddess Dressing. Her Buttermilk Roast Chicken is unbeatable, and we will accompany it with Herbed Rice. Butternut Squash is the basis of an ideal autumn side dish and for dessert enjoy Moira's Caramel Brownies. Easy meals never tasted so good.

Let us share our knowledge and the tips from our latest cookbook, The Best Cast Iron Baking Book, as we erase your uncertainties. Let’s start the evening with a Skillet Cheese Dip on Baguettes. Cast Iron Pork Chops with Sage Gravy will become a family favorite. We will serve it with mashed potatoes, herbed green beans and a warm Parker House roll. Holiday gatherings are the most fun and we will help you be the gracious host. We will share the tips and recipes you need to host your own event in the style of a classic, English tea. Of course, we will begin with scones and clotted cream. The traditional menu will then feature an array of savory bites and holiday sweets. Bring your friends and let us keep that China cup filled with tea. It will be a beautiful and fun respite during this busy time of year.
